My mouth is dry, but I don't smoke.

I need some more water. Till then, I'm getting ready for the gym. I'm trying to be healthier while many of my friends smoke. Asheville is a smoky city. I thought about buying an ashtray. I once made one from clay that melted in the hot sun. :/ Etsy has some vintage ones I particularly love.

California ranch and bungalows

Having lived in Southern California for my whole childhood doesn't make me want to move back, but Southern California has some of the nicest ranch homes. I discovered their bungalows and love them too. If I ever do move back, it'll be for the houses.

Thankfully, my favorites aren't the million-dollar homes but the ones around 400-800K. It's still pretty expensive, but not completely unfathomable.

Modernist Bungalow isn't particularly my style, but it's put together really nicely.

The exteriors are sometimes more fantastic than the interiors...

Pieces of decor

I feel like I've already showcased these, but I'm doing it again because I must love them that much! They're pillows from Alexandra Ferguson. Cute huh?

Also, I did vote FOR letters at home.

Small places and surfin' USA

I've never been a fan of huge places. 1500 sq ft might be the most I'd go for. Cleaning, managing it all would be too much.

My other dream was to own a VW bus, wear sundresses, go swimming a lot (even though I suck at it)... think Beach Boys. Here's a skateboarder's home that I admire just as much (via MadeByGirl).

The above images are from San Fran. I love how those houses look, the facade on the street. This Young House also featured a similar picture of houses in Richmond, VA.

Jayson Home and Garden grays

Dark gray and light grays are my favorite colors for furniture. That, and this blue (from the couch).

Midcentury house tours

Since I've been away, I've had to catch up on Apartment Therapy and there were quite a few home tours. I love the architecture inside and outside!

House Tour: Jora and Bryan's MidCentury Organic Remodel

House Tour: Sara Lov's Los Feliz Charmer

I didn't sleep last night. Instead, I administered a quiz and picked up homework the students had not finished, turned in my paper that ended up being 8 pages, and finally, presented my research. I had no idea about the deadline for being a University Research Scholar. Bummer. I wanted it because, well, I suppose I want the recognition and for my kids to be proud. :) Haha.

I love my sophomores by the way. I realized that I like the sophs the best this semester. They're so much fun and energetic. I'm pretty annoyed sometimes by some of the seniors. Normally, juniors are good too. Mine, however, are shy though and I knew this because I've known them for three years now.

Celeb homes & Swedish apts

Her room's fun except for those circular dots on the wall - keep it plain. (via InStyle: Stars at Home)

I clipped this image out of InStyle - Lisa Edelstein's bedroom (I have no idea who she is).

Lastly, somewhere down deep I want a place like this - with the old heaters and high ceilings. (via AT)
