California ranch and bungalows

Having lived in Southern California for my whole childhood doesn't make me want to move back, but Southern California has some of the nicest ranch homes. I discovered their bungalows and love them too. If I ever do move back, it'll be for the houses.

Thankfully, my favorites aren't the million-dollar homes but the ones around 400-800K. It's still pretty expensive, but not completely unfathomable.

Modernist Bungalow isn't particularly my style, but it's put together really nicely.

The exteriors are sometimes more fantastic than the interiors...

It's summer so how about the great outdoors? I sometimes forget to consider it.

House to Home

Today's plans:
  • Currently finishing my essay so I can turn it in tomorrow and student teach next semester
  • Applying for a job as a "Camp Invention" counselor (just need to send it out tomorrow)
  • Already... ran (mostly jogged because my jogging=running) for 15 minutes, walked for 15 and did 25 sit-ups
  • Will... do my 30-minute workout later
  • Find something to do... like a cookout?
  • Make these cookies (Jewel Heart Cookies)

I want to be an Upper East Sider too.

A simple bedroom with a gorgeous bedspread:

I love "Gossip Girl!" It's too good and I can't decide...

Blair and Chuck

OR... Blair and Nate?

For once, I like the bedding!

Maybe it's spring, but I really like the pin-tuck duvet and shams from West Elm. I've had a tough time finding airy, cute, and fancy bedding.

I always managed the following colors in my home:
Entryway - white, silver
Living room - gray, purple
Kitchen - light light blue
Dining room - light avocado green
Bedroom - yellows
Office - orange, red

Celeb homes & Swedish apts

Her room's fun except for those circular dots on the wall - keep it plain. (via InStyle: Stars at Home)

I clipped this image out of InStyle - Lisa Edelstein's bedroom (I have no idea who she is).

Lastly, somewhere down deep I want a place like this - with the old heaters and high ceilings. (via AT)

Homeslice

I really want the shower curtains! I wonder where it's from... must ask.

Swiffers never really picked up all the hair or dirt from my floors. Will Shamwow work?

I love these headboards!

Breathe.

Still writing my paper... it's due Monday. Thankfully. I talked to my prof about it forever and am actually pretty happy with what I have so far. I don't know where I can go to work on my work. Anyways, I'll to finish it up tomorrow. Maybe I can read and do other less daunting things right now. I think a lot of writing this paper is I'm afraid to do bad. I'm holding myself up to high standards as a history major.

Instead, I napped (really didn't need to) and watched "Picture Perfect" starring Piper Perabo and some guy. It was pretty good.

I'm not sure how to convey my mood, but here's a video to help.

I love this house and the light airiness feeling.
